One of the newest airports in the country is Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW), which received its operating certificate in May 1983. 2005 saw the opening of a new terminal complex. With three concourses, the airport has a single terminal. Although there is now work on to merge the three checkpoints into one, the concourses are currently fully distinct and not connected Airside.
