Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport

Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport

Situated six miles south of Providence, the state capital and largest city, Rhode Island T. F. Green International Airport is a public international airport serving Warwick, Rhode Island, in the United States. Theodore Francis Green, a longstanding senator and former governor of Rhode Island, is honored by the airport, which opened in 1931. The main terminal was rebuilt in 1996 and given the name Bruce Sundlun in honor of the previous governor of Rhode Island. It's the country's first airport to be owned by the state. It is classified as a small-hub major commercial service facility under the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2023–2027. PVD has two runways and 1,111 acres of land.

According to the FAA System Plan, T. F. Green Airport is a regional airport that serves the agency's New England area. Of the six airports run by the Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC), this one is the biggest and busiest. The potential serviceable market for the T.F. Green airport is thought to consist of around 7.5 million people who reside within 90 minutes of the airport. There are two concourses at the airport terminal, North and South, named for the previous governor of Rhode Island, Bruce Sundlun. There are eight gates in the South Concourse and fourteen in the North Concourse. Customs, located on the concourse's bottom level, is immediately connected to Seven and Eight, which are intended for foreign arrivals. There are shops, eateries, and a central food court inside the terminal.

Situated next to the Northeast Corridor, the airport has a station that is accessible by the MBTA commuter rail on the Providence/Stoughton Line. The station features a huge parking lot, a rental car garage, and an elevated walkway leading to the terminal. It was completed in October 2010 and opened in November 2011. The 1.1-mile T. F. Green Airport Connector Road provides direct access to I-95 from T. F. Green Airport. Not only do local taxi and limousine services serve the airport, but big automobile rental businesses also do. According to a USA Today survey conducted in 2022, the T.F. Green Airport was named third among small airports in the US for the 10 Best Readers' Choice Travel Award.
