Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport

Situated in Broward County, Florida, United States, Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport is a large public airport. The Miami metropolitan region is served by four airports offering commercial services. This one is among them. Situated 3 miles southwest of downtown Fort Lauderdale and 21 miles north of Miami, the airport is accessible by Interstates 595, 95, U.S. Route 1, Florida State Road A1A, and Florida State Road 5. The cities of Dania Beach, Hollywood, and Fort Lauderdale also border it. There is free unlimited Wi-Fi internet access, banking, a kid's play area, a post office, a pharmacy, animal relief areas, reserved areas for nursing mothers, workspaces, meet-and-greet services, luggage carts, luggage wrapping and storage, lost and found, tourist information, travel assistance, and special needs available at the airport.

Although Miami International Airport still handles the majority of long-haul flights into and out of South Florida, FLL has developed as an intercontinental gateway since the late 1990s with over 700 daily flights to 135 local and international destinations. For flights to destinations like Delray Beach, Jupiter, Boynton Beach, and West Palm Beach that are not served by Palm Beach International Airport, FLL acts as a secondary airport. It is the primary airport serving the Fort Lauderdale, Pompano Beach, Coral Springs, and Boca Raton areas. Allegiant Air, JetBlue, and Spirit Airlines all have bases at the airport; the latter maintains its corporate office in the neighboring Florida neighborhood of Miramar. Additionally, the bulk of Southwest Airlines' flights presently serve Fort Lauderdale, making FLL the airline's principal airport in South Florida. The US Federal Aviation Administration has designated FLL as a "major hub" facility that handles commercial aviation.

There are four terminals at the airport, which is open 24 hours a day. (1, 2, 3, 4). The road plan of FLL airport is rectangular; the terminals are arranged around the periphery, while parking and ground transit amenities are located within. While Terminals 1 and 2 function independently of one another and the other two terminals, Terminals 3 and 4 are coupled. Along with a large selection of duty-free goods, including apparel and accessories, it also offers a broad range of culinary options, including eateries, cafés, and fast-food outlets at every terminal. The terminals of FLL Airport are home to a few lounges.
