Cabo San Lucas International Airport

Cabo San Lucas International Airport is an international airport located in Mexico. This airport is the only privately-owned international airport in Mexico. Being a modern one, it serves as a secondary airport to the popular tourist destination of Cabo San Lucas that is situated at the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula in Mexico. Even though there is a larger Los Cabos International Airport situated approximately 32 kms in the north, the Cabo San Lucas Airport largely focuses on regional flights that operate within the western Mexico. It operates commercial and charter flights for the United States of America as well. Moreover, it serves as a main hub to the Calafia Airlines, a regional airline. 

This Mexican airport has a single operational runway of the length of 3,000 meters. Because of this length, it is capable of handling all types of aircrafts ranging from small regional jets to large wide-body aircrafts. The runway also has a large parking area for aircrafts, that can accommodate up to 34 aircrafts at any given time. Besides the runway, the passengers are also offered various transportation services within the airport such as taxis, rental cars and shuttle buses. 

Coming to the terminal, the Cabo San Lucas airport operates on a single terminal that handles both domestic and international flights. It is a modern and well-equipped terminal that offers a wide range of amenities to the passengers including bars, restaurants, shops and cafes. Passengers can also get access to other services such as currency exchange facilities, Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs), free wifi access and much more. They can use these facilities anytime during their visit to the airport between 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM local time. 

Talking about the other services, the departure area has a departure concourse that consists of a VIP lounge, souvenir shops, snacks bars that the passengers can use when going towards the four gates providing access to the apron. Similarly, the arrival section is well equipped with services such as a baggage claim area and taxi stands. The airport has also gone under some recent improvements which includes the addition of a control tower, improved lighting, PAPI visual aids, and a new Fixed-Base Operator (FBO) equipped with all necessary ground support equipment.
