Baxter County Airport

Baxter County Airport

Located four nautical miles (5 km, 7 km) northwest of the center business area of Mountain Home, a city in Baxter County, Arkansas, United States, is the county-owned public-use airfield known as Baxter County airfield. Up until 2005, it was called Baxter County Airport. Because to confusion with the nearby airports at Ozark, Missouri, and Ozark, Arkansas, it reverted to its original name, Baxter County Airport. Lone Star Airlines used to fly to Dallas-Fort Worth International from this airport in the mid-1990s. This airport is classified as a general aviation facility in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015.

The airport is 928 feet (283 meters) above mean sea level on an area of 346 acres (140 hectares). It features a 5/23 runway with a 5,000 by 75-foot (1,524 x 23 m) asphalt surface. 11,500 aircraft were operated at the airport in the 12 months ending on July 31, 2020, or an average of 32 each day: 91% were general aviation, 6% were military, and 3% were air taxis. At that time, this airport was home to 74 aircraft, of which 70% were single-engine, 15% were multi-engine, and 15% were jets.

Baxter County Airport is allocated BPK by the FAA and WMH by the IATA, even though the majority of American airports use the same three-letter location identifier for both organizations. KBPK is the airport's ICAO identification. Big Air is the on-site FBO that offers crew and pilots fuel and services as of November 2015. Fuel for Jet-A and 100LL is available with full service. Big Air is situated between Echo and Delta on the main ramp of the airport.

How AOPA members collaborate with employees at AOPA headquarters to maintain and safeguard airports around the country is provided via the AOPA Airport Support Network. Every public-use airport in the US has to have an Airport Support Network (ASN) Volunteer to help airport management maximize the airport's value for everyone. It is a privilege to utilize the Baxter County Airport and all of its amenities, and entering the airport entails following certain rules and regulations. A person's ability to enter or use the airport, whether directly or indirectly, explicitly or implicitly, is contingent upon adhering to certain rules and regulations, as provided by the Airport Commission or its designated representative.
