Battle Creek Executive Airport at Kellogg Field is the base of operations for approximately 55 individuals. These include Western Michigan University College of Aviation, the Battle Creek Air National Guard, Duncan Aviation, WACO Aircraft Corporation, FAA Battle Creek Flight Inspection Field Office, and Centennial Aircraft Services. These organizations operate their aircraft on the Battle Creek Executive Airport base. This airport was previously known as W.K. Kellogg Airport. The administration of the district of Battle Creek owns it. This public-use, joint-civil military airport is located 6 km west of the central business district of Battle Creek, Michigan, United States. The district of Battle Creek is situated in Calhoun County. Customers can reach this airport by road from Helmer Road which falls near I-94.
This airport is recognized by the Federal Aviation Administration(FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport System in which it was categorized as a regional general aviation facility. Therefore, it is also known as W.K. Kellogg Regional Airport. It is well known because of its structure and services. The structure was Built at an elevation of 290 m above sea level while covering an area of 1,500 acres. It has three runways made of asphalt measuring around 3,000m, 1,400m and 1,600m respectively. These runways can accommodate different types of aircraft from small-sized jets to mid-sized aircraft. Besides, the services and facilities of the airport are maintained by two Fixed-Base Operators. These operators offer fuel as well as general maintenance, courtesy transportation, conference rooms, a crew lounge, catering and much more. Additionally, this airport was ranked as the 3rd busiest airport in Michigan in the calendar year 2019.
Talking about its operations, the airport supports general aviation, air cargo and corporate flight operations. The Western Michigan University College of Aviation, Duncan Aviation - the nation’s largest family-owned aircraft refurbishing company - WACO Classic Aircraft Operation, SEMCO Energy Gas Company, and several other aviation businesses use this airport as their hub. A unit of the Michigan Air National Guard uses a part of the airport as a military base which is known as Battle Creek Air National Guard Base. It also hosts an annual Flight Air Show and Balloon Festival that features different acts such as an F-22 Raptor Aircraft demonstration.
