Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport is a public-use airport situated 7 km north of the central business district of Baton Rouge, a city in East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, United States. This airport is also known as the Ryan Field. The airport was previously used as a maintenance and supply base by the United States Army Air Force Technical Service Command during World War II. It was originally a Harding Field at that time. Earlier, many aircraft such as P-40 Warhawks, P-47 Thunderbolts, P-39 Airacobras, and B-26 Marauders were used at Harding. But today, no traces of military operations are seen at this airport. 

Located at an elevation of 21 m above mean sea level, the Baton Rouge airport covers an Area of 1,250 acres. It has three runways including one made out of concrete that measures about 2.2 km and the other two made with an asphalt surface with a length of 1.1 km and 2.1 km respectively. The airport provides Air Traffic Services using Air Traffic Controllers (ATC) in the tower and the Terminal Radar Approach Control. The Louisiana State Police Air Support Unit uses this airport as its main airport. 

The airport had 51,070 aircraft operations for the calendar year 2018, with 17,695 being commercial air carrier flights and 32,362 being General Aviation. Cargo services at this airport are primarily operated with regional jets such as Embraer ERJ or Canadair CRJ. Most civil operations are operated by Delta and American flights with larger, multi-class regional jets such as CRJ-700, and CRJ-900 that have coach, premium coach, and first-class seating in its options. Delta also uses its mainline Boeing 717 jets for some of its flights. Additionally, United Express also operates its flights using its medium-sized aircraft. Baton Rouge also has a 3,100 m cargo facility which is being expanded to 6,300 m for more commercial operations.

It also has a dining and shopping area where travelers can buy something and also eat while waiting to board. Basic facilities such as free wifi, sports bar, ATMs, and Nursing Rooms are also available.
