Aurora Municipal Airport is a county-owned airport for the use of the general public. It has been operating since 1966 in the village of Sugar Grove, Illinois, United States. It is situated 13 km west of the city of Aurora in Kane County. The local government of the city of Aurora runs this municipal airport. Passengers can find this airport just outside Class B Airspace (O’Hare International). They can get quick and direct access to Chicago and other nearby business corridors. It has been designated as a reliever airport for Chicago’s O’Hare and Midway airports.
There are three runways within the area of 1100 acres of the airport. Two of them consist of the concrete surface while the remaining one is made of asphalt surface. Moreover, the runways also support single-engine and 23 multi-engine aeroplanes, jets, helicopters and gliders. They also provide 24/7 staff to remove snow, on-site FAA Control Tower, no landing fees or curfew, quick turnarounds for fuel and ground servicing, rental cars and limousine services. The operators are also well known for providing flight training, aircraft rentals and charter service businesses. These services are available for 24 hours a day and 365 days a year.
The aircrafts present in this municipal airport is maintained by J.A Air Centre, Revv Aviation, Chicago Jet Groups and MidAmerica Jet Works. J.A Air Centre and Revv provide these aircraft rentals. On the other hand, the services of Avionics are provided by J.A Air Centre, Chicago Jet Group and Revv Aviation. Moreover, flight trainings are provided by SIMPRO flight training programme, Gambit Aviation and Freedom Flying Company.
